– 1972 U.S. Open, Pebble Beach – Jack Nicklaus on the 17th hole, laced his shot to inches from the hole to win and keep his Grand Slam hopes alive.  Two Iron – 1991 Ryder Cup, Ocean Course, Hawaii - Mark Calcavecchia cold-topped his shot into a hazard 100 yards short of the green.  The US. team went on to win the match by 1/2 point.  Three-Iron – Los Angeles, CA. – Jack Nickolson (the actor) used a three-iron to retaliate against a driver who allegedly cut him off the road.  Nickolson allegedly smashed the cars windshield and roof.  The case was settled out of court.  Four-Iron – 1986 Masters – Seve Ballesteros eased up on his swing and dumped his shot in the water in front of the 15th green.  Jack Nicklaus went on to win the event.
