Creative Commons License photo credit: star5112   Myth No 1)  The lower the loft the farther you’ll hit your driver >  The crucial element is swing speed.  The pros average 116 mph.  Fewer than 10% of all amateurs swing at 95 mph.  The slower the swing speed the higher the launch angle should be to get maximum distance.  Myth No 2)  The shaft plays a vital role in keeping the clubface from twisting at impact. >  The duration of impact is so incredibly short that the shaft has no time to have an effect.  Myth No 3)  Club fitting is an essential expenditure for the serious golfer. >  Most club fitting is done to sell new clubs to the average golfer.  The set-up is done under the assumption that the club is swung the same every time. . . it isn’t!
