Creative Commons License photo credit: Lisa Sanderson  Striving for all-0ut power with your drives is counterproductive in most cases.  When swinging all-out, two things can happen:  1.)  There  is a reduction of distance, caused from a swing that is mistimed.  2.)  Defects in the swing become more pronounced.

TIPS:  A)  Maintain your height during the swing.  This is accomplished by holding your chin up during address.  B)  Start the clubhead back low and slow to promote a wider swing arc.  C)  A powerful and full backswing promotes more distance.  D)  Uncoil the left side during the downswing for more leverage.  E)  Don’t slide your weight forward during the downswing, just turn your hips.  F)  Finish with a balanced position; stomach facing the target.
